What it means
A wide yellow rectangle with a black rim shows a black figure bent over a shovel, digging into a mound of earth. It warns of roadworks with people on or beside the road ahead. Workers can be hidden behind machines, trucks or a bend, so the site may look empty when it is not. Every roadwork sign and speed limit applies whether you see anyone or not.
Ease right off once the sign is behind you.
Obey the roadwork speed limit for the whole site.
Watch for people, machines and loose surfaces along the way.
