What it means
Dropping back when the car ahead signals right: what is the rule?
On a two-lane road with a side street on the right, a white car is signalling right and its path turns into that street. The yellow car had started to move out to pass it. A faint dashed arrow straight up the right side of the white car carries a red cross. Instead, the yellow path bends back left so the yellow car settles in behind the white car.
What to do
1
Check your mirror as soon as you see the right indicator.
2
Ease off and steer back into your lane behind the car.
3
Wait until it has turned before you continue.
