Regulatory sign · Turns and direction
Pass to the left of the sign and the island it stands on.
What it means
In our drawing a white arrow slants down and to the left across a round blue face. The arrow carries the whole message: pass this sign on its left. You will meet it standing on the nose of a traffic island, a median strip or a pedestrian refuge, where cutting to the right would put you on the wrong side of the road. It applies to the obstacle directly in front of you.
Steer so the island stays on your right as you go past it.
Slow near refuges, because people may be waiting on them to cross.
Only go right of it if another sign or marking tells you to.
