What it means
What does the t3 transit lane sign mean in NSW?
The same tall white plate reads TRANSIT LANE, but the white figure in the red panel is T3, above the operating hours. That third person is the difference: a driver plus one passenger is not enough here. Everyone aboard counts, including the driver and small children. Motorbikes may ride in a transit lane whatever number of people they carry, even a rider on their own.
What to do
1
Before the lane starts, check you have three people in the car.
2
With only two aboard, stay in the next lane during the hours shown.
3
If you find yourself in it short of people, leave as soon as it is safe.
