You may cross a single broken centre line to overtake or to turn, once the way ahead is clear.
What it means
A two-way road has a single broken white line down the middle and a side street on the right. Two plate-yellow cars show the two moves this line allows. The upper one swings across it on a yellow path to turn right into the side street. The lower one pulls out from behind a slow white car to pass it. Both are legal here, but only with a clear view ahead and room to finish.
Check the oncoming lane is clear far enough ahead to finish the pass.
Signal right, check your mirrors and do a head check before pulling out.
Move back to the left only once you are well clear of the car you passed.
