What it means

What does the disability parking sign mean in NSW?

A white plate edged in blue holds a blue square, and in it a white wheelchair symbol: a seated figure facing right on a large wheel. The space it marks is reserved for vehicles with a valid mobility parking permit on show. Without a permit you may not use it, not for five minutes and not after hours, however empty the car park.

What to do

  1. 1

Check you have a valid permit before pulling into the space.

  2. 2

Display the permit where it can be clearly seen.

  3. 3

Without one, keep looking for an ordinary bay, however far away.
