What it means
What does the taxi zone sign mean in NSW?
The top half of our white plate is a red panel with TAXI ZONE in white letters. Under it, a red arrow runs right from a short upright bar, showing where the zone begins and which way it stretches along the kerb. While the sign applies, the space belongs to taxis. If you are in a private car you may not stop or park there, whether a taxi is waiting or not.
What to do
1
Read the arrow to see how far along the kerb the zone runs.
2
Drive past and pick up or drop off your passenger somewhere legal.
3
Ask a friend to meet you at a proper parking spot, not the rank.
