What it means

What does the give way to buses sign mean in NSW?

This one is a green plate with a thin white border. A white bus sits on the left, and a curved white arrow rises from it towards a white panel on the right that holds GIVE WAY in red above a small red car. You see it on the back of a bus. In a built-up area, when that bus signals right to move off from a stop, drivers behind it must give way and let it back into traffic.

What to do

1
Watch the back of a stopped bus for its right indicator.
2
Ease off and leave a gap so it can pull into your lane.
3
Move on only once the bus has rejoined the traffic.
