Regulatory sign · Stop and give way
Give way to every vehicle already travelling around the roundabout.
What it means
The triangle points down with its thick red border, but the white centre carries no words. Instead it holds three black arrows chasing each other in a circle, the roundabout symbol. You will see it at the entry to a roundabout. Traffic already circulating has priority over anyone coming in, so you wait for a safe gap, whichever exit you plan to take, straight ahead included.
Slow on the approach and look to the vehicles already circling.
Wait for a gap that does not make anyone in the roundabout brake.
Enter and keep to the left of the centre island.
