Road scene · Parking scenes
Never stop next to a car parked at the kerb, even briefly; find a legal spot instead.
What it means
A line of white cars is parked along the left kerb, every space taken. The plate-yellow car has stopped in the traffic lane right beside one of them, and a red cross on it marks the stop as illegal. Another white car travels on in the next lane. Waiting there for a space, dropping off a friend or making a delivery all count as double parking, and hazard lights do not make it legal.
Drive on when the kerb is full rather than stopping beside a parked car.
Look for a legal space further along or around the corner.
Let passengers out only once you have pulled into a proper spot.
