Railway crossing · Crossing warnings
A level crossing with flashing lights is coming, so slow down and be ready to stop.
What it means
On the yellow diamond, a small black X of crossed boards sits above a pair of ringed circles joined by a bar, the two lamps of a crossing signal. It warns of a level crossing ahead that has flashing lights, often on a country road where you may be travelling fast. Ease off before you reach it so you can stop at the line if the lights start to flash.
Slow down as soon as you pass the sign.
Watch the signals ahead and look along the line yourself.
Stop if the lights are flashing when you arrive.
