What it means

What does the crossroad ahead sign mean in NSW?

A thick upright line crossed by a thinner one forms a plus sign. In our drawing the heavier upright stands for the road you are on and the lighter bar for the road that crosses it. Cars may come out from both sides, and on country roads the cross road may be hidden by crops, trees or a crest. If the junction has no signs or lights, you give way to vehicles approaching from your right.

What to do

  1. 1

Ease off and look both ways as you approach.

  2. 2

Watch for cars pulling out from the side roads.

  3. 3

If the junction has no signs or lights, give way to the right.
