The median ends ahead, so keep left and expect oncoming traffic beside you.

What it means

What does the divided road ends sign mean in NSW?

Two thick black lines rise from the bottom of the yellow diamond and bend in to meet a single stem at the top, two carriageways closing into one road. It warns that the divided road you are on is ending. Past that point no median keeps the two directions apart, and oncoming cars will pass just to your right. Settle into the left lane and give up any overtaking plans.

What to do

  1. 1

Finish any overtake and move left before the median ends.

  2. 2

Keep left once the road becomes two way.

  3. 3

Watch the oncoming traffic now passing close by.
